Jim Hanlin is Chief Marketing Officer of Training Industry, Inc. He has been involved in education and training for over 25 years as a senior administrator at a community college, director of education for a professional engineering association and has founded and served as president and a member of the Board of Directors for three companies focusing on the development of corporate training strategy and custom training programs. Included in his long list of clients are General Mills, The National Institute of Standards and Practices, Nortel Networks, Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Heinz USA, Inland Steel, GlaxoSmithKline, Consolidated Edison, and many more. As CMO of Training Industry, Inc., Jim is one of the leaders in promoting the training industry, facilitating outsourcing partnerships, and analyzing the state of the marketplace. Clare Marsch leads Convergys global Learning & Performance Consulting team, providing performance-based transformational consulting, strategic learning outsourcing, global learning infrastructure and administration services and learning impact measurement strategies. Clare has extensive experience in improving the value of learning within organizations through streamlining processes, leveraging learning shared services, and in the targeted development of corporate training programs. She is a leading expert in e-learning implementation, and has consulted with dozens of Fortune 500 organizations in the integration of learning and performance technologies and industry best-practices into the strategic planning process. She is a frequent speaker at national and international training conferences. Clare joined Convergys as part of its acquisition of DigitalThink in May 2004. At DigitalThink was VP of Consulting and responsible for the firm's Performance Consulting Services team. Prior to DigitalThink, Clare was VP, Consulting and Development at LearningByte International. Clare led the content development integration strategy for the merger between LearningByte and Image Dynamics, a San Diego-based multimedia training development provider. Previous to this, Clare held positions as Senior Editor for CBT at McGraw-Hill Training Systems, Director of Courseware Development at Primarius, Inc, and Acquisitions Manager for CRM Films, LP. As an independent researcher, analyst and consultant, Dr. David Metcalf combines business sense and technology efficiencies to provide performance results. Dr. Metcalf was formerly the Chief Learning Technologist at RWD Technologies. There he was responsible for the analysis, design and strategic alignment of RWD’s technology solutions for learning. He ran high-level strategy and transformation engagements at well know companies such as 3Com, Fujitsu, Roche Diagnostics, Rolls-Royce and FedEx Ground. Dr. Metcalf also led the development of several award-winning mobile learning innovations.
He joined RWD with the sale of his NASA Kennedy Space Center laboratory spin-off company- Merrimac. Prior to spin-off, he was the Lead Multimedia Designer at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. He was responsible for the outsourced management and operations of the award-winning multimedia laboratory.
Dr. Metcalf holds a B.A. in Computer Graphics from the University of Texas, an M.S. in Computer-Based Learning and a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University and keeps current by continuing to hold appointments at several universities.
A frequent speaker at major learning and development conferences around the world, Dr Metcalf is also the co-author of the book titled: Blended eLearning: Integrating Knowledge, Performance Support and Online Learning and recently participated as chapter author on “Operational Excellence Through Blended Learning” for Elliott Masie’s upcoming book- Rants, Raves and Reflections in Learning. He is currently completing mLearning: Mobile Learning and Performance scheduled for later this year.
Dan Miller, a Senior Vice President at General Physics Corporation, has been engaged in learning and employee development since 1983. During his career he has been instrumental in the development of learning strategies in support of workforce development in the manufacturing workplace, established assessment methodologies for training businesses, and has led the expansion of the training industry to the Asia-Pacific marketplace. He is noted for his passion for learning and penchant for aligning learning with business strategies. He holds a B.S. in Human Resources from the New School University and a MBA from Anderson University.

Prior to Instancy, Harvey served as the Chief Learning Technology Officer at Centra Software after the company he co-founded, MindLever, merged with Centra Software. Harvey also served as an advisor to eLearning standards organizations like ADL/SCORM and IMS and was nominated as eLearning Executive of the year in 2001.
At MindLever, Harvey was the visionary and principal architect behind the industry’s first Web Services and eLearning standards based outsourced learning infrastructure company. Prior to MindLever, Harvey co-founded Empower Corporation, an Online Learning product design and development outsourcing company with off-shore development centers.
Harvey is frequently invited to speak at national and international training conferences and to contribute in books, magazines, and webzines on the topic of enterprise learning. Harvey has graduate degrees in both computer science and education technology from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from North Carolina State University.
Tom Starr is a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he is responsible for leading the firm's Learning & Performance consulting practice in the commercial market sector. For four consecutive years, Booz Allen's corporate university has been ranked as one of Training Magazine's top 10 learning and development functions.
Tom has over 20 years of experience in organizational learning and workforce education. He has been an industry leader in applying business, organizational, and financial disciplines to the training and education function, and has been an early proponent and practitioner in designing shared service functions for learning.
Tom has also been at the forefront of the training outsourcing industry, having launched the learning solutions business of Convergys Corporation and served as its practice leader. As Director of Organization Effectiveness for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tom and his team provided consulting services to senior HR and learning executives in areas relating to evaluation and transformation of the education function, and were involved in several of the training outsourcing industry's market-defining engagements.
Tom has also held management and consulting positions with Wilson Learning Corporation and the Ford Motor Company. He earned his bachelor's degree in English from the University of Delaware, a master's degree in business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and has completed advanced studies with Cornell University
